What kind of Guinness do you use for stew?
opt for the extra stout for its enhanced flavor profile. With a robust hop presence and the deep ruby red hue from roasted barley, it operates similarly to how roasting coffee beans intensifies coffee flavor. If you happen to have draught on hand, you might be contemplating its use. Some find it less flavorful and slightly bitter, while others appreciate its creamier and smoother qualities. When cooking with alcoholic drinks, a general rule is to choose ones you would enjoy drinking. Experiment with both options to determine your preference, and don’t fret about the alcohol content; it tends to evaporate during the cooking process.
What beef cut is best to use for slow cooker Guinness beef stew?
Given the lengthy cooking time required to draw out the flavors, there’s no necessity for premium beef cuts. Popular choices for this type of dish include chuck roast or shoulder, both of which are budget-friendly and possess sufficient marbling to keep the meat moist.
