Cherry Pork Chops Recipe

The 30-minute Cherry Pork Chops are juicy and succulent, with an explosion of flavor in every mouthful from the sweet and sour cherry sauce. Even the pickiest eaters will like this recipe, which is a favorite in my household. Additionally, this dish is so simple that even beginner home cooks can make it.

Pork chops are among the healthiest and leanest foods you can eat, but they also have a tendency to dry up quickly. When cooking, it is easier to dry them out if they have less fat. Try using a tenderizer to separate the muscle fibers before cooking and be careful not to overcook them.

It just takes a few minutes to prepare this delicious dinner. You may prepare everything in one pan without using the oven. Before searing, season the pork with salt, pepper, and your preferred herb for a flavorful spice rub.

This is one of the best pork recipes there is, and it is one of my favorites. Add a small bowl of Cucumber Tomato Avocado Salad as the perfect starter for any of these pork dishes.

Add our Air Fryer Twice Baked Potatoes to this for a complete meal.

For the Pork:

  • 6 boneless pork chops
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/3 cup frozen cherries (thawed or fresh pitted cherries cut in half)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • salt and pepper (to taste)

  • Pat dry the boneless pork chops, salt, and pepper on both sides.
  • Place a large cast iron skillet over medium heat, once the skillet is warm add the butter to it, when the butter is almost melted add the seasoned pork chops to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on one side, and then 3-4 minutes on the other side. If you prefer a more caramelized top, cook for an extra minute. Set aside.
  • Add the brown sugar, and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring continuously until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Next, add the cherries, and the rest of the ingredients except the meat, and cook for another minute. Stir the cherries and the sauce and cook for about 5 minutes, until it thickens.
  • Add back the pork chops and cook a few more minutes, using a spoon also pour some of the sauce over the pork chops. The internal temperature of the pork chops should be at least 145 degrees F.
  • Remove the pan from heat, let the meat rest for 5 minutes and serve with lime wedges on the side.
