Slow Cooker Beef Teriyaki

A delicious weeknight dinner that is very simple to prepare is slow cooker beef teriyaki. Simply combine all the components in the crockpot and start cooking; you’ll love it, I promise!

Easy slow cooker beef teriyaki

One of my favorite crockpot meals is slow cooker beef teriyaki. This meal saves so much time and is reasonably priced. Because teriyaki is sweet and not overly salty, it perfectly complements the beef in this recipe and gives it an Asian flair.

The first Asian beef recipe I gave the kids to sample was this Beef Teriyaki, and it opened the door to a wide range of other dishes they now enjoy. You can serve this handmade dish over noodles or rice, and it is very flavorful and tender.
Large family can all be fed with this recipe, and the leftovers are delicious. This meal, which is made with basic components, is eaten often.  Serve it alongside a hearty green salad or steamed vegetables.

What is beef teriyaki?

It is believed that Japan is where teriyaki first appeared. It mostly refers to a technique of cooking and can be applied to a variety of other meats. This meal is now widely popular and can be found on the menus of almost all Asian restaurants. The same method of cooking—glazing beef with soy sauce, mirin, and sugar—was used in our dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 – 3 lbs. stew meat (cubed)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 8 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 3 medium carrots (diced in 1/4-inch rondelles)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup Teriyaki sauce

Instructions

  • Add cubed beef and cornstarch to a gallon sized freezer bag and shake well until the meat is well coated in cornstarch.
  • Add all the ingredients to the slow cooker, followed by the beef covered in cornstarch. Stir to combine.
  • Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hours or on LOW for 8 hours.
  • If the sauce is too thin and you prefer a sticker, thicker sauce, mix 1/4 cup of beef broth with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and add it to the slow cooker. Stir gently to combine and cook on low for another 30 minutes. The sauce will thicken as it simmers.
  • Serve over rice.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onion.
